stages de formation professionnelle à l'étranger en bac pro restauration
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Located in a rural area, our vocational school has the ambition to propose various training programs. Discovering a European country through a professional experience in catering will increase our training offer. The Republic of Ireland and its capital Dublin have been chosen. Dublin with its urban density, as a dynamic European capital, is in perfect opposition with our students’ usual environment (remote and rural). It will be the opportunity to practice English, the compulsory foreign language taught in our school. This training-period abroad will concern ten students: five cooks and five waiters and waitresses. They will be selected according to their motivations and their skills, their investment and their professional plans as well as their personal autonomy. They will leave for a five-week training period. This period will be evaluated by means of a bilingual (French-English) certification written by both parts: the school and the foreign partners. This document will take into account the specificities of the host countries. This document will be part of the diploma (baccalauréat professionnel) An appropriate timetable and a cultural program will be set up. Once back to school, the students are expected to take advantage of this very experience to pass their exam. The English language will be a major advantage for them to apply for a job in select and gastronomic restaurants where both languages are highly required. They will relate their mates their experience abroad. They will contribute to develop the cultural policy of the school concerning the European and international spaces. The following year, they will be involved to the preparation of the program for the future trainees. Thus, the steering committee will continue to look for new European partners in order to increase the opportunities of training periods abroad.
