Stage européen en génie civil
Start date: Jun 1, 2015,
End date: May 31, 2017
The project "European Internship in civil engineering ", realized within the framework of the "Erasmus + ( KA1) " project, is addressed to the 11th and/or 12th grade students of the technician's training in civil engineering at the Lycée Josy Barthel Mamer (LJBM).
Halfway through their training, four participants can realize part of their compulsory internship in a company abroad (in an engineering consulting firm), notably in Hamburg or in the surroundings. This internship will complete the theoretical courses of the full-time training at the high school and offer the pupils a better understanding of their training and thereby facilitate their integration into working life.
The training course abroad will allow the students to improve their competences, their professional qualifications and their linguistic abilities in an international environment to improve their degree of employability within the big European employment market. It will also allow them to discover an intercultural awareness which improves their understanding of the similarities and the differences between various countries, to discover other cultures and to strengthen their European citizenship.
The internships will be organized in close collaboration with our partner institute, G19 (" Staatliche Gewerbeschule Bautechnik ") from Hamburg in Germany. During the preparation phase, the role of the partner institute will be to help us find internship companies and accomodation for the participants. During the internship, the partner institute will do the follow-up of the participants and will be available as interlocutor in case of problems. A person in charge of the LJBM internship office will go to Germany once during these internships to discuss with the intern, his/her company trainers and the contact person from the partner high school on the activities of the intern in order to finalise his/her evaluation.
The internship service office, in association with the partner institute and the internship company, will evaluate and certify the internships.
