Stärkung der internationalen Beziehungen unserer Schule und Verbesserung der Fähigkeiten zur pädagogischen IKT-Nutzung für den Fremdsprachen- und bilingualen Unterricht
Start date: Jul 21, 2014, End date: Jul 20, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Four teachers of Science and Geography will take part in CLIL-courses abroad so that our school has more staffmembers who are able to teach their subjects in a foreign language. At the moment we have two CLIL-teachers for the 7th, 8th and 9th grades, but there is an increasing demand which has to be met. The students will improve their language skills by taking part in CLIL-lessons so that they are well prepared to communicate on an international level. The teachers will learn effective and modern teaching methods in the CLIL-courses which they can communicate to the other CLIL-teachers. One of the participants of the CLIL-courses in Exeter and Oxford was enabled and encouraged to teach Geography in English in our 7th grade. The school also wants to improve the professional development of their foreign language teachers. Four teachers (English & French) took part in courses in English and French speaking countries in order to improve their language competences as well as their knowledge of modern teaching skills. Their ICT-competences will be enhanced so that they can apply innovative teaching methods in their lessons. The school can get their support if they need to purchase new digital equipment (smartboards, tablets). Their improved competences will support international school projects (Baltic Sea Project, Exchange programmes). The teachers will be able to meet foreign collegues in their courses which can initiate new international projects. An English teacher took part in a language course in Poland together with German and Polish course members. She could improve her language skills and get more insight into Polish history and culture. This will provide a greater understanding to cultural diversity. With her improved language skills and knowledge about Poland, the school exchange with our Polish school will be enriched. Since she is a language teacher, she has the possibility to learn about new teaching methods including the tandem concept. Her improved language efficiency enriched the Polish-German exchange Programm at our school and intensified the relationship to our Polish colleagues. The participating teachers' motivation and satisfaction in their school work will be increased, which has a positive impetus to their lessons, their students, their fellow colleagues and the development of the school.
