Stärkung der europäischen Orientierung der Schulentwicklung unseres Gymnasiums und Erweiterung eigener Projektmanagementkompetenzen
Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

On the one hand, the origins of the project are to be found in the new demands on schools, which derive from a growing number of students with migration background - despite the current situation. These students have a right to full integration. In order to realize this integration, tasks of the project management are of particular importance. On the other hand, schools also have to integrate the "Europan thought" in their daily work. Especially from a pedagogical point of view, student exchanges are a very suitable means to this end.The aims of the project already derive from this origins. Our teachers shall be enabled to improve their professional skills and learn to know about as well as implement new, innovative possibilities for the practical work with students. Therefore it is necessary to get into contact with colleagues from other countries, to allow new ideas in one`s own work, and to get to know about other cultures in a personal as well as professional way.So far, we have only decided on two participants, because we believe that daily teaching routine should not suffer from participation in the project (ensuring personnel and lessons). However, this does not exclude, that other colleagues might be concerned with similar or advanced aspects of the project in the next two years. In choosing the persons (headmaster, principal teacher of a group of teachers of the same subject), we have based our decision, for one thing, on various professional skills, and for the other thing we based it on their willingness to further educate themselfs abroad - and to actively represent the "European idea" in schools. For this, we consider participating in international educational courses as a suitable and effective means. From the participation we not only expect new impulses for the practical side of school partnerships which already exist, but also the chance to make new connections. The enhanced skills which our students derive from this shall enable them to better take the chances of the international, specifically European, job market - and, ideally, to actively support the "Project Europe". Everything we as a school do in order to achieve this eventually intended to have a positive impact on the development of our students. We want to provide them with sufficient skills concerning linguistic, social and intercultural aspects. To achieve this, we require dedicated and highly motivated teachers, who we not only but mainly want to train and thereby acquire by means of this project.
