Spre scoala secolului XXI prin invatare centrata pe competente cheie
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The interdependent nature of the community problems requires from school a new vision: the development of each person for a continuous learning and adaptation to a global society. The European educational policies establish the evolution towards a knowledge society in terms of key competencies (Recommendation of European Parliament and Council2006/962/CE). Since 2011, the National Education Law (Article 68) stipulates these eight areas of key competences as a purpose of education. Although big steps have been made in this regard, the process still remains a goal to be reached: school lacks vision, skills and resources. In this context, we propose ourselves the development of school capacity to integrate / adapt strategies, good practices at European level to improve the quality of education in order to develop transversal key competences among students. The project "Towards the 21st century school by key-competences -centered learning" aims to develop, in the international context, knowledge, abilities, skills related to the formation of transversal key competences among students to a number of 18 teachers, over a period of two years . The project is relevant in a national and European context, the development of key competencies being a strategic objective on the level of policies / strategies (ET2020) and objectives of the Erasmus + program. Our approach is the formation of 5 teams of experts, on various parts of the competences who will suggest solutions to improve teaching by a cross-curricular collaboration, using technology, valuing diversity, formal / non-formal complementarity. Thus, the objectives of the project aim to develop the participants' skills to acquire and generate innovative teaching strategies, to use ICT, Web resources, improve skills, social skills training, civic cooperation, entrepreneurial learning in a multicultural environment, the leadership and group management skills as well as internationally acquired skills` transfer to school, in order to find relevant solutions for cross-competence centered learning . The 18 teachers participating in the mobility project are employees of the school for at least two years, teachers from three different curricular areas. They have at least a B1 level of English and show particular interest in innovation in teaching. They are aged between 25 -55 years old, women and men. The training activities will be under the form of topic-structured courses such as new technologies and Web learning resources (1 course, 4 participants), innovative learning methodologies (2 courses, 8 participants), group management, collaborative learning, developing the social, civic entrepreneurship skills(2 courses, 6 participants). The transfer of skills in the school context will involve the formation of 5 mixed teams (competences/ discipline) which will develop inter / cross-curricular modules, optional courses, projects and educational programs using innovative methodologies, ICT integration and Online resources, collaboration and team building activities, integration of European values. The results will complete a good practice guide with a high degree of transferability locally, nationally and on European level. It will be a support for teachers in implementing competence-centered learning. A project team with clear responsibilities and a strategy based on project management cycle (planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and dissemination) will ensure implementation. The responsibilities will be linked to mobility management practical organization of mobility, signing the contracts to ensure the training program quality, planning development, reporting, certification), organization and implementation of the training program, mentoring, monitoring and evaluation of participants, of the on-going / transfer programs and sustainability, the communication with the training suppliers. Thus, by implementing the acquisitions acquired during the training activities, the project results will improve the curriculum and the school offer, will increase teachers` personal responsibility regarding the development of key competences, will intensify the exchanges and the collaboration among teachers, will develop the organizational culture. There will also be developed the institutional capacity to assimilate European best practices in the form of transversal competences development strategies, in curriculum and in non-formal learning. The institution will enhance multiculturalism, diversity, active citizenship training students for a changing society. The premises for achieving a strategic partnership on the topic "Innovative approaches for transversal competencies development in students" will be created. The project impact and results will increase the quality of education having as a purpose the formation of transversal competences in students.
