Sport Events Manager
Start date: Mar 31, 2004, End date: Mar 30, 2006 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project intends to meet the demand expressed by public institutions, cultural associations and institutions, enterprises and tourist consortia for a professional figure who is able to plan, organise and manage sports events, both from the point of view of project design and planning and in terms of technical requirements and implementation. This demand corresponds to a growing interest on the part of economic operators towards sport as a strategic element on which to invest for the future and the progress of a certain territory, particularly in relation to issues such as the active participation of the youth to social life, health and physical well-being at all ages, the setting up of collective meeting opportunities, the development of activities that can attract tourist resources, the definition of the quality of life. Based on these social and political considerations, sport represents an important economic element: suffice it to consider the resources required to set up an event - ranging from project design to communication and promotional skills, from managerial to administrative skills, to the strictly technical aspects and the repercussions of tourism - to understand that sport is and will become more and more crucial to defining the quality of the economy and of the life of a cross-border territory, as is the case with the area between Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Republic of Slovenia. The Sport Event Manager project has a cross-border target and, specifically, is open to unemployed people with a secondary education degree.
