,,Spielen kennt keine Grenzen – Spielen als internationale Sprache“
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Jun 1, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

During the summer break of 2014 and 2015, 17 students of the ?DAA ? Vocational School for Social Pedagogy? took part respectively in a 3-week stay abroad in London, Great Britain. At that time, the students trained as educators at their school in Germany. The 3-week stay included a one-week language course and a subsequent 2-week placement in pedagogy institutions. Students were able to do this stay abroad instead of a mandatory placement in Germany. As a local cooperation partner, the ?ADC College? was chosen, because of its long-term experience in international exchange. Furthermore, the ?ADC College? gave participants the opportunity to enhance their language as well as broaden their practical skills. The aim of this stay abroad was to give participants the opportunity to gain international experience in the course of their training. Not only could participants acquire language ability, but also were they able to get to know day-to-day work and the cultural differences concerning their job profile. The project ?Games without frontiers ? play as international language? gave participants the opportunity to work closely together with local children. The participants (male and female) chose the game ?Memory?, because it relates to children's experiences and imagination. During their stay abroad participants were accomodated in guest families. On this way they get to know the life in Great Britain from another major perspective. In the guest families placed one to two students. The experiences the participants could gain during their stay abroad, are of strategic relevance to their professional and personal development ? the fact that they lived in a different culture and worked in a foreign team means valuable knowledge to them.
