Special Needs and Inclusive Learning
Start date: Aug 3, 2014, End date: Aug 2, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The overall aim of the project was to acquire knowledge of how to deal with learners who have Special Needs in the English classroom. Methods were studied and later on applied in the teaching process. Various materials were produced which were then used in the English lessons. One colleague of the staff, head of department and also teacher trainer in Berlin, took part in a teacher training course at Pilgrims Teacher Training in Canterbury, England. Various aspects of the topic were covered in that course. The main content and ideas were passed on to the staff in workshops and lectures. Different methods were then tried out and materials were produced.. In staff meetings it was decided which methods and materials were useful and should be included in the school's curriculum. Important measures have therefore been implemented which will promote inclusive learning in the English language lessons now and in the future.
