Speak up! I can't hear you
Start date: Feb 2, 2015, End date: Aug 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The youth exchange took place in Campano and Sanlúcar de Barrameda / Jerez de la Frontera for 10 days. 39 participants from 6 countries: Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, Poland, Turkey and Spain hold project all together. The aim of the project is to challenge problematizing perspective on youth that can help us to understand youngster’s needs and why they have growing conflict with society. We intended to understand better what young people fight against and explore the phenomena of youth protest. We practiced empowerment of young people in order to make them aware of their own values and competences. In order to achieve our aims we used various methods of non-formal education based in the team work and group participation, making activities like simulation games, workshops, energizers, role-play, brainstorming, intercultural learning and debates. For this project we choose one of our partners from East window because they can bring other perspective as they come from a state that focus in different way the youth conflicts. Some of our partner countries youngsters are living in conflict but what is the attitude of their government or municipality towards this conflict? Why young people want to show their disagreement with protests if we have any other solution to solve it. What is violence (we consider violence in 2 different forms such as direct-cultural and structural violence) we made young people concentrate on their worries and conflicts and then we worked to find out solutions together, we used playback theatre method. It is very important to feel if there is a problem also there is a solution, we look together our obstacles and enabling factors and which conflicts are depending on us and depending on external factors. We expect the impact will be quite determining in the participants and the organizations that are involved, but also to the local population which we got in contact thanks the visibility of the project and some direct activities that were opened to local people. The results of the project are in the line of empower young people, trust in their capacities and teach how to face and solve conflicts. This learning will have a big impact in their lives and the way to connect with their social environment; what it will produce a change in their associations and surroundings, having a multiplier effect.
