Sowing Diversity
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Dec 31, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

Sowing Diversity aims at letting 36 European young adults from different cultures, who are all interested in healthy food and environmental questions, meet and exchange ideas. Within an inclusive and intercultural framework, these active youths will share their knowledge and experiences in order to learn about themselves and about other cultures' perspectives. Therefore, they will together contribute in building a better common future. In this day and age we see a global concern about healthy food and environmental issues. This, combined with the rising need for facilitating non-formal ways for young people to get together and learn from each other, is paving the way for a youth exchange. From October 1st to October 5th 2014, the participants from 6 European countries will meet up, live together and share experiences and perspectives by means of a jointly developed programme of non-formal learning activities, including games, recreational and educational activities, excursions and discussions in and around Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Together they will teach, learn and share through learner-centred activities based on a cross-fertilisation approach. We expect Sowing Diversity to enable the youths to be a part of a larger European community of great diversity and become aware of their role as participants in the democratic process. The aim is for the participants to gain confidence through the individual and collective learning process that this exchange facilitates, and the new connections between the participants could become a starting point for a long-term positive movement of youths who share an interest in the environment, food and biodiversity.
