SOMA – Safety on Machinery

Complying to safety standards on idustrial electrical machinery is one of the biggest challenges facing European SME’s in the manufactoring sector.The main objective of SOMA project is to develop a learning system, which is used in training situationsof individuals, government organisations and SME’s.The challenge is to develop new tools ahd facilities in the process of improving local and international knowledge on how to handle built, sell, buy and use industrial electrical machinery.The project will develop a certified European education in how to construct, maintain and certify industrial electrical machinery in Europe. In collaboration with the partners in the project will establish a new training method with the sole purpose of teaching EU safety standards to the involved target groups. A number of people that go through the training program will be qualified to teach others what standards and regulations SME’s have to use in the future to be able to work as certified subcontractors or producers within the EU. The partners in the project will supply the expert knowledge to the project as well as being the ones who will develop the learning modules. The learning system will be certified and it will be the base from where all the participants will get their knowledge. The Quality Management assure the Valorisation and Dissemination strategy in all the different stages. The project develop new modes of training processes, exploiting state of the art technology, enabling the industry to comply with EU standards in a safe work environment.
