Social entrepreneurship with/for immigrants, refugees and other marginalised groups
Start date: Aug 15, 2016, End date: Feb 14, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

In whole Europe and countries involved in this project there are serious issues with inclusion and acceptance of diversity due to migrations towards the EU. The increase of immigrants/refugees of different race and religion around us influences the raise of “right” oriented aggressive feelings among mainstream population. This further brings us hatred speeches on everyday basis and promotion of hate among youngsters who trust blindly their elders. In addition, employment, adequate social conditions and well-being are among the greatest concerns for people. For many young people unemployment implies lack of opportunities, lack of future perspectives, limited personal development, low self-esteem, the impossibility of becoming autonomous, etc. Thus, it is easier for them to fall under the trap of believing the hatred spread around them and trying to find cause of all the problems in newly arrived immigrants and refugees. We believe that with social entrepreneurship we are contributing to solving the situation on exclusion in our communities, but also individual situations of youngsters with fewer opportunities in general and the unemployed ones in specific. Project is developed for youth workers willing to act as multipliers and further develop (social) entrepreneurship skills of youngsters in communities and support establishment of different social enterprises by, with and for immigrants, refugees and other youth with fewer opportunities. The core activity of the project is – 8 days long training course. It will be organised in the youth hostel in Novi Sad, from 10th till 18th December 2016. Project will gather 33 participants, trainers and staff from 13 organisations and countries (DE, RS, HR, BA, CZ, FR, GR, IT, MK, SK, TR, AL, ME). There will be at least 21 participant with fewer opportunities. Objectives:• To share realities and experiences with discrimination, exclusion and marginalization of different groups (including migrants and refugees) in different European communities/countries• To explore and promote intercultural acceptance of diversity and respect of Fundamental/Human Rights in Europe• To share the existing ones and inspire ideas for new creative and innovative social enterprises with/for immigrants, refugees and other marginalised groups• To explore social entrepreneurship concepts, stakeholders and supporters• To explore links between social entrepreneurship and inclusion (connected to inclusion themes of social entrepreneurships and/or social entrepreneurs being youngsters with fewer opportunities)• To explore skills of social entrepreneurs and reflect on own competences for social entrepreneurship • To inspire and encourage youth workers to act as social change agents in their local community• To introduce appreciative inquiry (instead of problem solving) as a way to approach the local reality and initiate new ideas• Further developing participants' competences in defining, planning and coordinating quality youth work projects which contribute to inclusion & social entrepreneurship in communities• Reminding of the E+-YiA and developing new projects and future European level cooperation among partners with the topic of social entrepreneurship with/for immigrants, refugees and other marginalised groupsThe course is based on pedagogical understanding of Council of Europe and European Commission Partnership Programme and our own experience and expertise in project management and youth work for (social) entrepreneurship, employability skills, inclusion and intercultural learning/acceptance. The course will follow the non-formal education approach, principles and methods and will be based on participants' experience and exchange. All partners will be involved in preparation, implementation, evaluation and follow-up phase and activities during the project, while the preparation team of trainers, facilitators and staff will be comprised of experienced youth trainers and youth workers from applicant/partners from Germany, Serbia and Croatia.Project will have biggest impact on direct beneficiaries-participants who will further develop creative and analytical thinking of ways of active citizenship for development of inclusive society through development of quality (local and) European youth work projects dealing with inclusion and social entrepreneurship. Youth in communities are indirect beneficiaries who will benefit thanks to the empowerment of our participants who will further guide, lead and organise those youngsters in communities to get more active in social entrepreneurship for better employability of theirs and for better inclusion and acceptance in society. We expect increase in number of young people that will get closer to getting a job and will increase their employability skills, through increased quality of youth work activities for social entrepreneurship and social enterprises in communities, as long-term perspective of multiplying and sustainable impact.
