Description (EN): Main ObjectivesThis project will deliver increased innovation within public service provision of these airports which are supported directly and indirectly (i.e. publically owned, capital and recurrent grants, public service obligations routes, enabling infrastructure) by local, regional and national governments.Expected Change/OutputsBy applying a triple helix model, enabled by a transnational partnership, which focuses on a number of areas to improve the level of innovation at these public service airports. Expected changes/outputs from a wide range of work packages include (i) making airports greener (ii) greater exploitation of their non-aeronautical potential (iii) reduction in the cost burden to governments (iv) greater integration with the local community/businesses (iv) enhanced technological competence (v) enhanced capacity amongst airport management to deal with challenges.BeneficiariesLocal community, local businesses, airport management/staff, students/staff of third level colleges, policy-makers who will gain a better understanding of the challenges faced and government departments funding peripheral airports. Expected Results (EN): Awareness and attitudes among health professionals towards the use of eHealth technologies Expected Outputs (EN): New Concepts for Public Service ProvisionThe project will enhance peer group networking and link it with world class expertise and technology specifically assessed against the very special challenges of NPA airports as public services. A series of pilots, studies, business cases and reviews will be undertaken of relevance to the NPA airports and more specifically to the project partners. Innovation Network An enduring Innovation Network will be established with a range of project specific, but also wider and longer term benefits. In a stakeholder survey during the preceding SPARA2020 NPP preparatory project we were pleasantly surprised that over 85% of respondents highlighted this feature as one they would be interested to associate themselves with. Increased Awareness of New Approaches to Using Public ServicesThe project will openly share results and best practice with other NPA partners and other appropriate transnational collaborations and EU bodies. The project will involve SMEs as appropriate, and will access the R&D of several larger NPA businesses. The project will also access expertise through the Expert Advisory Steering Group and a range of trade, EU and public bodies. As 95% of airport in the NPA are loss making and all are in public ownership the results will be of great interest to the public sponsoring bodies behind the airports. The project will keep an eye open to commercialise certain products and services that will be refined during the project.Long-Term ImpactThe projects main aim is to influence and positively impact airports in the NPA area, although this process will be progressive. Over 130 airports have been identified within the NPA area and indentified through the SPARA preparatory project.
