The main objectives of the project " Flavours of the childhood " is to forge a sense of identity - their "self" by exploring the cultural heritage and by building a generational bridge between people from different communities: the youth participating in the project and seniors from the Association "Poland Community " in Torun. Other goals include the development of entrepreneurship and creativity of the project participants through the promotion of alternative forms of art such as radio, photography, culinary arts. Organisations involved in the project have a common mission of strengthening young people sense of belonging to the European Union based on common values and elements of European history and cultural heritage, and the recognition of national and regional diversity, strengthening intercultural dialogue. During the project the art- educational workshops have been planned, where an external educational objective will be replaced with an internal goal: development of personality, sensitivity, empathy and tolerance. These workshops are a prelude to the implementation of intergenerational and inter-ethnic photo session. The next step will be to learn the basic photography techniques - photo correction and preparation for publication during a workshop called "Signs of the Times " at the Modern Art Center in Torun. This will be followed by a photo session in the old town of Torun – the city enlisted on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage. The pictures taken during the session will be presented in Pedagogic Library in Toruń. In addition, there will be workshops of storytelling, which result in creating eight intertextual stories inspired by the tales of the participating countries. The final stage will be recording radio plays at the Higher School of Social Communication and Media in Torun. Another activity will be cooking workshops. It will be a practical part, during which young people together with invited seniors of "Poland Community” will prepare specialities of the partner countries. Each group will develop a proposal of a dish, ingredients and the cooking technique. It will be followed by a common cooking. The seniors shall serve as mentors during these workshops. As a result a collection of pictures will be prepared which should be used in the online cookbook. It will also present the prepared receipts and senior memories of “Flavours of the childhood". The planned project involves partner institutions that support ZSG-H. The institutions are: The Modern Art Center in Torun, Pedagogic Library in Torun, School of Communication and Media in Torun The "Poland Community" Association. All mentioned institutions are wishing to realize this particular project together. This will lead to an increase in the prestige of the abovementioned institutions and their promotion in the environment – starting from the local and with the European finished. This type of partnership will have a long-lasting character and contribute to the development of human capital – it will create opportunities to take part in the international exchange workshops, practical classes, etc. At the same time it should help to establish common values, standards, common working methods, based on cooperation and ties between the participants. Potential local influence as well as European is raising national and cultural awareness of its participants. It is also expected to activate the local community for intercultural and intergenerational dialogue and increase the awareness of the society that, thanks to the EU funds informal education can be attractive, take part in many diverse and interesting project activities. The youth participating in the project is at a specific stage of development, which might be described by the following slogans: development of the personality, job preferences, maturation process.
