PROJECT
FINISHED
The basic idea of the project came from realising that Hungarian researchers are not familiar with the results of so-ciography in Slovakia or in the former Chechoslovakia and Slovakian researchers do not know about the Hungarian results. These contents are not accessable in English, neither are they translated into Slovakian or Hungarian, and this led to this lack of connection between the same fields of studies in the neighbouring countries.By creating a common database of sociographic works the lack of information can be overcome in the research of sociography. With the call for applications for tenders of sociography, sociophotography and sociofilm, people in both countries can involve themselves in the project, becoming aware of their common multicultural heritage. The activities of the project are composed of the following three parts:1. The first part of the project is creating a virtual library by collecting sociographic essays, photos and movies, creat-ing a web portal, organising workshops, writing reviews and translating the works of sociography into Hungarian and Slovakian. 2. The second part of the project consists of three components. Component A is about collecting articles of sociogra-phy. Component B is about the planned television programmes presenting sociofilms. Component C is planning of a sociophotography tender and the exhibition of the works. 3. The third part of the project represents the promotion of the project, so that there would be plenty of applicants on the sociography tender. The dissemination of the results will also happen on the closing conference, press confer-ence, an exhibition opening, and the regional telvision campaign. Achievements: The basic idea of the project came from realising that Hungarian researchers are not familiar with the results of sociography in Slovakia or in the former Czechoslovakia and Slovak researchers do not know about the Hungarian results. The aim of the project was to create a common database of sociographic works, so the lack of information can be overcome in the research in sociography. The project involved a Sociophoto exhibition containing 40 large photos that were presented in Budapest and Šamorín, and the publication of a 120 page-long book (Sociography 2012) containing the best essays of a tender in Slovak and Hungarian languages. Furthermore a 110 minute long television program was broadcasted in two languages parallely.
