SKUNK´s Craft of Project

In the EVS project SKUNK´s Craft of Project will two volunteers, one from Ukraine and one from France, join SKUNK in the Aland Island archipelago working with developing leisure time activities for teenagers in six small communities, Vårdö, Brändö, Sottunga, Kökar, Föglö and Kumlinge. On this geographical wide spread area there only lives 150 youths and due the geographical obstacles it is very difficult meeting other people and doing different leisure time activities. This project will train two volunteers whom will travel around the archipelago engaging youths in afterschool activities for the youths age 6-15 depending on the activity. The project is divided in different blocks. Understandning & learning –The project will study and explore SKUNKs work and learn the different kind of methods foremost the project-modell, we will discuss the importans of gender- and normperspective and learn more of Åland. Visit all the municipalities to get to know those who lives there and have workshop in making project and how to get together. Afterschoolactivities – The volonteers will practise the methods they learnt making small project which will result in afterschool activities in the five school.Campweeks –The volunteers will be involved in SKUNK camps and in the end of the EVS-year they will have the possibility to make an own camp together with the youthOwn project – own project is similar to afterschoolactivities but are with more focus on what the volunteers and participants want to learn or do. This might be arranging a trip to see the movies in the city of Mariehamn and going to a musical in Stockholm. Documentation - projects depending on needs and skills there will be different kind of documentation projects, text, pictures, art, film, podcasts, etc. Nature life - in summertime sailing with a boat Cajsa, built for youth work will be one opportunity, the volunteers will learn to sail and make small camps with the boat.Living in the archipelago it is ever so important to understand the possibilities of being a European citizen and internationalization. The traditional working places are disappearing and we need to develop and train our entrepreneurial thinking to ensure the future of the rural areas, this is important for the young as well as the grown-ups and the politicians to see. This will be one of the impact EVS project SKUNK´s Craft of Project as well as learning more of other culture and practice language and social skills.
