Skolt Lappish cross-border culture
Start date: Mar 31, 2010, End date: Dec 30, 2012 PROJECT  FINISHED 

The objective with this project is to create possibilities for skolt Lappish people to work and live in their home village. By doing that the countryside can be kept vigorous and removal be reduced. For skolt Lappish people that already been alienate from their own cultural background and language the project will give information that help them to strengthen or find their own cultural identity. For skolt Lappish people that live outside their own district will this project offer possibilities to take part in cultural events especially in summer time. Main aim for the project is to contribute to strengthen and develop skolt Lappish culture, language and identity in a cross-border perspective in Finland, Norway and Russia. The project will contribute to increasing understanding and better knowledge for skolt Lappish culture, national and international. Aim is to create synergy effect by creating new job so young skolt Lappish families became motivated to move back to the district.
