21st century education requires teacher education throughout their lives. The teacher is a direct provider of the educational process of the school, the quality of education at school depends on the teacher's professional skills. This project was directed to improving the quality of education at the institution. This included the development and management of the quality system of education in the school and the quality improvement of educational process at school during lessons. Quality education should be accessible to all children.
In today's society knowledge and its application is changing rapidly, like the competencies that are necessary to be able to integrate successfully into the labor market and society after graduation. Plus traditional skills, such as communication in the mother tongue, foreign languages, digital literacy, skills and basic skills in mathematics and science, there is the learning to learn skills, social and civic responsibility skill, initiative, cultural awareness, business and creativity. This means that the teacher must ensure the educational process of students to get the skills needed for the 21st century. Lesson must be meaningful, effective and teaching aids must be modern. Students should be provided with the skills that after graduating, they are able to engage effectively in communication with the rest of the community and to build a career, finding personal growth, to participate in social life. ICT skills, language skills - without them the 21st century education is inconceivable.
Teaching and learning are the key areas which continually must have been improved. Move from a society which teaches the society that learns. European digitization requires new approaches in the learning process, so teachers need to be well-educated, professional, with a desire to improve themselves and ready to learn.
The project aimed at improving the quality of education in the organization. Its implementation was planned to develop the quality system at school, as well as to improve the professionalism of teachers, the acquisition of new skills and ideas to work with new technologies that could be integrated into the learning process, thus increasing the students' motivation.
The project took part in two European mobilities: teachers' professional development courses and the courses for school administrative staff about development plan of educational quality at school. Selected course participants are professionals with great experience in education, teachers are constantly evolving and keeps track of time. They have experience in an international courses of previous European Union programs.
Based on the needs of the school, corresponding course programs were chosen: "Using Technology for Teaching English" (course provider International Study Programmes) - for Secondary school English teachers, and the "Teach, Learn and Quality" (course provider Eekhoutcentrum) - for school administrative personnel.
Outcomes of two selected courses were related closely to the improvement of the educational quality. After the course participants have gained the implementation of new, efficient and innovative ideas in various fields, which are directly related to the quality of education:
* meaningful use of technology in the learning process and related skills.
* guidance and practice using computer to design lesson materials and student motivation.
* real use of English, language level development.
* Quality System Plan (from theory to practice).
It was planned for the long-term impact. As the biggest benefit from the participation in the project the quality of school education would increase. It could not be imagined without qualitative lessons. This meant that they would be meaningful, effective, and applied to new technologies. Students would be provided with the skills that finishing school, they would succeed in their lives. Not only students, but also teachers ICT skills and foreign language skills would be improved. The goal would be implemented - providing quality education for all children. As a result, a positive impact on both the students as recipients of education and the educational institution as a whole, as well as pedagogical staff. Teachers would be trained in the necessary competencies of the 21st century education, evolved both professionally and as a person. The project has broaden the horizons of teachers in different areas, they has become more open to international cooperation, got a greater understanding of the culture of other European countries.
Sustainable impact on students. It would help them to integrate into the globalized, competitive, and complex environment where creativity, innovation, and the ability to continue their education is more important than the specific areas of knowledge. European co-operation is of great importance for both the school as an institution and teachers, and students. Thus, the winners are all community.
