Start date: Feb 1, 2015, End date: Mar 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project “Skilful youth worker: the best motivation for your volunteers” was addressing to the youth workers from Albania, Czech Republic, Romania and Ukraine, which are working with young volunteers engaged in social work and are eager to improve their work and methods. The aim of the project was to develop competencies among the youth workers in motivating and retaining the young volunteers to be engaged in the social work. Therefore the main objectives of the project were: 1. To foster mutual learning of 20 youth workers from the participant countries (Albania, Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine). 2. To develop a toolbox addressed to youth workers during 4 study visits in the participant countries. 3. To increase the awareness of 20 youth workers concerning the needs of the young volunteers in the social work. 4. To update the practices of 20 youth workers from the participant countries in volunteer management. In this project during each study visit were involved 20 participants, youth workers – 5 participants per each country. Each project partner work in the similar social sphere, have similar projects and actions and does it for the same category of needy people. And the most important fact that is all that organizations have young volunteers that help in realizing different activities and projects. During the project we realized 4 study visits in Albania, Czech Republic, Romania and Ukraine. Each study visits lasted 5 days+2 days for traveling. Each of the participant countries facilitated the study visit when it came the time for each of them and each partner was responsible for taking care for visit and all program. Representatives prepared all workshops and session that were previously agreed with others. So, each partner had equal part of work. Except exchanging a good experience and discussion the main output of the project that were interesting for all of them, participants designed a toolbox that will be a good helper in our future work (it is one of the attachments). Between the study visits the participants communicated constantly for sharing information, opinions and comments. The benefits and impacts of the project include that through the study visits and activities undertaken the participants improved considerably their working methods and they learned to adapt on different kind of situations and circumstances they will face. Through the toolbox the organisations have at reach of a hand the proper tools to attract and to retain volunteers, and also, they are able to form all their youth workers and to provide them qualitative information on the motivation aspects. Also it will help us to improve the work of young volunteers with needy people. Another impact of the project is that during its implementation was created a network between the participants, which will be an effective starting point for developing future collaborations.
