Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: Nov 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Effective teachers do not hide themselves behind the old methods; they are constantly looking for new methods, on the same way fulfilling the needs of the students. Participation in the project “Increasing competency and digital skills in Girkalnis basic school” is like a continuation of the former project and the proof that the teachers need and want to enhance their professional skills. In August 2015, we had completed the project “Competency Development of the staff of Girkalnis basic school” for job shadowing at partner's school. With the help of the job- shadowing project, we started to apply web 2.0 tools in education; this year we acquired a set of tablet computers for one classroom. Strategical plan of the school emphasizes great importance of using ICT and improving competences of the staff. We appreciate what we have achieved; we do not want to stop. Technologies are improving very rapidly; pupils’ needs to learn using innovative and interactive approaches grow together with modern technology. We are confident that the project “Increasing competency and digital skills in Girkalnis basic school” is a timely continuation of the first project. The main objectives of this project are: 1. Integration of innovative approachers and tools; 2. Modern organizing of teaching and learning process 3. Improving digital literacy and competences. Activities of this project will be carried out through job shadowing visit at SRPIS high school in Valencia, Spain and two training courses. There will be participation of teachers or the staff. They will be selected according to democratic principles and criteria. School teachers and all the staff are also experienced in international projects. The school has a team of teachers that are interested in and successfully apply web 2.0 tools in their activities, take part in the first training project. The entire school staff will have the opportunity to learn how to work with the same IT tools, they will be trained immediately after the courses. The project will last 18 month and each participant will reach the best achievements step by step, to ensure an effective result. Results of the project will touch every student in some ways because dull activities during the lessons will be changed into interactive, even more, a variety of digital tools will be used not only for teaching a topic, but also to perform their functions and learning. Students will perform variety of tasks, they will expand some skills of using various technologies, develop the creativity and innovation; will participate in different projects and will develop communication and collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving. All project's activities will be announced on the school’s website, disseminated in local press of both partners‘ countries, on the project’s Twinspace on eTwinning portal, during the seminars. Two seminars for Raseiniai district teachers will be hold. Innovation we use will spread in the region. During the project we will collect all outcomes made by our teachers and in the end of the project will upload the best works on the school‘s website. Project will be evaluated and assessed by Evaluation group and project‘s participants three times a year. It will ensure that project’s activities will be carried out in time and the maximum of results will be achieved. Motivation level will grow, higher academical results will be reached, our students will be ready to work in competitive world. Cooperation and collaboration with partner's school in Spain will reach a higher level and better mutual understanding.
