Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

During the school year of 2015-16, our school, financed by the European program Erasmus + KA1, made a plan to improve its operation with title “ Connecting the teaching of music courses with the general education courses and experiential approach of learning”. This was chosen because in our school, as a music school, very often experiential activities are taking place and we have to link music with other objects, such as language, movement - dance, mathematics, physics, etc. Under this program, two nobilities were made. Four professors of our School traveled to Assen (Netherlands). There from 21/01 until 27/01/2016 unfailingly attended the seminar entitled: "CREATIVITY IN TEACHING FOR A BETTER CLASSROOM BEHAVIOR AND HOW TO USE MUSIC, ART, SPORTS AND ICT IN EDUCATION” organized by «Quarter Mediation». At the same seminar professors from Spain, Croatia and Turkey attended as well. The second group consisted of three teachers traveled to Florence(Italy) in April 2016, to participate in experiential seminar entitled: «A satisfactory school experience: Strategies and Skills for Teachers» organized by “Europass CSE”. The seminar was held from 4 to 9 April 2016. In addition to our own team there were also teachers from Germany, Portugal, Romania and another Greek school. Teachers who participated in the movement were chosen, based on adequate language skills, their scientific and pedagogical training, the interest for the project and knowledge diffusion capacity. The participants were selected mainly on the basis of the content of the seminars organized. The benefits gained from the journey and training exceeded our expectations. It contained the emotion of a journey, culture figures, companionship, friendship, common destination of European people, but mainly new knowledge, experiences and powerful incentives and encouragement for creative teaching. When we were back, we worked to disseminate the knowledge gained and the overall positive image with which we returned. Therefore on 02.09.2016, we organized an informing meeting of new knowledge in our school for all our colleagues. On 03.23.2016 we offered training to colleagues of other schools for all theoretical and practical parts of the 1st seminar which lasted four hours. On 05.12.2016 one more information and discussion meeting was organized at school, during which presentations were made, given papers and brief discussion followed. On 06.23.2016 we made presentations on the importance for training of colleagues and the contribution of Erasmus+ programs to this. Other diffusion initiatives are being planned. Particularly a workshop will take place at the school in early September 2016, with guests, education officials of Central Greece, and colleagues from other schools. The project had an immediate and powerful impact on the school. New knowledge already applying to the activities and teachings of many teachers. The enthusiasm of teachers who have trained, is spreading to the rest, so the interest for similar activities in the future, have risen sharply.
