Сигурностт@ на младите в интернет. Предизвикателствата на киберсигурността.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project “Security for the youth online. The challenges of cyber security” of Sofia Security Forum aims to achieve: - increased public awareness on the topic and the promotion of secure Internet environment for youth; - prevention of the youth who “lives” most in the web space; - improvement of information security and vision on national, European and Transatlantic level; - opportunities for youth through Internet, clouds systems, mobile platforms and social networks; - the rights and obligations of the users of digital content trough promotion of transparency in the process. The project matches the priorities of Erasmus +, in particular its Youth section which correspond to the Annual work program of the European Commission. Youth policy is a horizontal policy to which an intersectional approach is applicable. According to the "EU Strategy for Youth – Investing and Empowering" the project framework envisages dialogue between the youth and representatives of the executive and legislative branches, NGOs and business. Through meetings with Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, State Commission on Information Security, National Assembly and the State Agency for National Security the young people would become acquainted with the principles for prevention and initiate proposals towards institutions. The youth lives in a different world comparing to the previous generation. Participants will get acquainted with cyber security challenges and opportunities which the membership in the EU and NATO gives to Bulgaria. They will discuss the Hacktivism trend in cybercrimes, using as an example the Wikileaks model. The choice of the draft project topic is based on the assessment that the origin of the WikiLeaks phenomenon could be found in the reactionary movement of the youth who is familiar with technologies and try to reshape the system. More arguments for discussion of the issue could be found in the statistics showing that criminal networks and terrorist organizations recruit young people using internet and many youngsters become victims of trafficking. European Commission's data shows the growing unemployment among young people. In the Information and Communication Technologies sectors will be between 700 000 and 1 000 000 vacancies by 2015 and business opportunities and the e-environment will be discussed as an opportunity for entrepreneurship and job for the youth. Young people will get acquainted and prepared for to protect themselves from the challenges. The project’s main focus is on: intersectional approach in youth policy; prevention for the youth online; dialogue between the youth and all stakeholders; benefits for Bulgaria from its EU membership and the international cooperation in the context of cyber security; opportunities for youth employment in ICT sphere. The project will take place in 3 days including a conference with participation of all parties, followed by work in three teams: prevention, entrepreneurship, cyber security. The target group is between 15 and 30 years, high school and university students, young entrepreneurs, selected upon an essay “My security online” and upon a registration form for one of the three working teams. Not less than 10% of participants will be representatives of Roma ethnic minority. At the end of the event a simulation of Ministry of Council session will be held. Summary of discussions will be forwarded to respective institutions tasked to elaborate a cyber security strategy in the implementation of the Program of the Bulgarian Government.
