SI QUIERES APRENDER, ENSEÑA. ( CICERÓN)
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jul 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project was born as a neccesity of covering our students linguistic competence weaknesses. Therefore, after looking for solutions, we decided that the first step would be training our teachers to cover sucessfully this worrying gap in our students´ competence. Secondly, the Cultural Competence has to be improved in our students. Our village is very small, so it is vital that our students open their minds to other students, countries and social realities through activities that enhance real communication among students. Our students´ socio cultural background is that of families with few possibilities so it is our duty to promote new european opportunities for our students discovering new cultures, new languages and new friends through an European language. We focus our project on: - Improve our student communicative and linguistic competence both in Spanish and English. - Improve our students Cultural and Citizenship competence, through the knwoledge of Latin language and the vaste heritage that Roman Era left in our village and many places in Europe. For this purpose they will develop projects with Romanian students. It is our main goal to teach and develop students with the abilities and competences to cope the international laboral context, in which the use of English, the highest competence in their own language and the European context will be the key for their future. The participants in this project are two and they have been chosen according to clear criteria. The first is the area of knowledge they are teaching at school: English language, Latin and Spanish Language; Secondly the motivation and interest they have always shown in their own formation and their students´ formation in an international context that enhance our students european framework in order to avoid stereotypes and prejudices. Morever, the participants experience abroad make them the perfect solution for our school students so they are always trying to open our students minds and points of view on important linguistic and cultural issues though the most creative activities. The activities in this project have been selected according to our teachers training necessities. 1. Training Course about English Language 2.Job Shadowing in an European School Both have been selected in order to discover new strategies so that all our students could be more motivated towards other languages and the process of learning a foreign language. To develop this project, meetings with the board of directors, English and Language Departments and Teaching teams have helped us to identify our students lack of linguistic compentence and with the Innovative and Formation Department we agree to design a project to deal with these problems. Expected results are: - Strategies, abilities and new methodology development in the participant teachers - New, original and creative resources and ideas for our lessons. - Sharing materials with the school staff -Creating a solid contact among our students and our partner students through a foreigh language and new technologies - Developing a solid contact with European teachers to develop future etwinning projects Finally, we hope the right implementation of this projects has a positive impact in our students results. We are trying to educate european citizens able to express their ideas correctly in a foreign language and in their own language; cultivated citizens that have a deep knowledge of our shared past and efficient enough to cope with the internatioanl laboral framework; That is to say, we are trying to create free citizens to succeed in their future lives.
