Both municipalities can lead a process of innovative use of new technologies to stimulate activation of local SME and their more active involvement in quality assured project generation. The project aims to achieve the overall objective and contribute to the satisfaction of the needs and overcoming of the identified weaknesses by: • Developing a joint Virtual Project Management Center which will have a two-fold purpose - of a repository (of all projects done or developed in the past) and of a project architecture generator drawing from the indexed data base with information from previous experience • Development of an integrated quality management system to underpin the VPMC and ensure sustainability • Delivering training to municipal staff, businesses and economy NGOs to how to use the VPMC. Achievements: • Established Virtual Project Management Centre and Network that is used by the municipal administrations of Kyustendil and Stip, local SME and NGOs for joint project development and implementation and strengthening joint investment marketing capacities of the cross border region.• Developed and implemented an interactive web-based information system and project repository for the knowledge sharing in project generation and management in the area of joint economic development (including investment marketing initiatives) for SME, economic NGOs and municipal administrations; • Developed/introduced Joint WEB Portal as the interface of the Virtual Project Management Canter (VPMC) with links and common functionalities to the newly created web portals for IMIS & BPAG of each of the partner municipalities. User and maintenance manuals in the two administrations were developed.
