The EU directives state that sustainable regional development should be based on an efficient, variable and competent energy sector and it depends on reducing energy costs and increasing the quality, safety and flexibility of energy supply. The development of an organic gas power station complies with the above requirements. The power produced at the plant would provide heating to the offices of the local government, schools, civic centre at reduced costs. Treatment of agricultural waste is realised by the power plant based on recyclable energy resources, and provides additional income to local agricultural producers, attractive investment opportunity for companies. The general objective of the project is reducing energy costs for the local government and its institutions, for agricultural works.Target groups: the settlements of Valea lui Mihai and Kondoros and their institutions due to lower energy costs, the local producers, the population due to a cleaner environment.The main specific activities of the project and results are: Vocational preparation: environmental impact study; strategic environmental examination: 2 master plans, 2 technical and economic analyses, 2 budget and business plans; organising conferences, publishing informative brochures.
