Séjour linguistique ERASMUS 2016 : Mémoires en Europe.
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

We are four primary school teachers from Clairvaux, a small rural town in the Aveyron department of France. We would like to volunteer for a language program in Scotland. This project will help us to improve our language skills and also to use English in as many subjects as possible: Culture, English, History, Literature and Information Technology. In History, we plan to give a European dimension to the study of the First World War. We will therefore look at the way this conflict has affected Scotland.Furthermore, through the Etwinning platform, we will establish a correspondence program with a Scottish school. The exchange will be based on a particular type of writing: myths and legends. It will enable our pupils to develop and acquire skills in several subjects: French, English, Computer science. With these skills, they will be able to validate the computer and Internet patent (B2i) and to access the A1 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).At the end of our stay, we will organise a "European memory" fund with all the educational materials on the Great War and on the legends that we will have collected. This fund will be made available to all teachers in our department of Aveyron. In time it will be completed by the colleagues we will have encouraged to participate in a language course in Europe. This experience will allow us to develop a real collective project about Europe. The school must help our children to become French citizens and therefore European citizens, as it is them who will build tomorrow's Europe.
