"Searching for good/Buscando entre la maleza"

“Searching for good” is a youth exchange addressed to 18 youngsters from Spain, Portugal and Italy (plus one leader for each group and a coordinator) promoted by the association Lenguas y Mundo based in Sevilla.In the last years the economic crisis has deeply hit the trust and the self-confidence of young people especially in southern Europe. In those countries many youngsters are NEET, Not Engaged in Education, Employment or Training.At the same time, during the crisis new forms of economy, self employment and collective projects have been developed to cope with the crisis and real economic alternatives have been developed and succesfully implemented. The goal of the project is to start a collective critical reflections to identify the opportunities of positive changes offered by the crisis. The activities will promote the critical thinking, the sense of initiatives, the creativity, the cooperative attitudes of the group. The participants will be guided in searching and exchanging new and creative experinces already existing in their own territories and able to provide inspiration and to activate them in building their own education carreer and labour future. At the same time they will be stimulated to create and imagine new alternative patterns according with their capacities, motivations and desires. The exchange will particularly address youngtsters with fewer opportunities and will also be focused to prevent violence, xenophobia and racism which usually follows the lack of self confidence and hope for the future as well as marginalization. The activities will include debates, meetings with local running projects (cooperative gardening, local currency, food self-production, etc.) and workshops and will be conducted with participatory methodologies. Particularly the workshops will be conducted using the Theatre of Oppressed methodology that the participants will have the opportunities to experiment as well to learn as a new pedagogical tools to become multipliers in “searching for good”. Additionally the exchange will be conducated in Spanish with the support of the Lenguas y Mundos' professional spanish teachers and it will be a great opportunity for the participants for an intensive spanish learning experience. An extensive session on the learning mobility oppoprtunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme will be offered to the participants so that they can identify futher opportunities. Last but not least this is the first youth exchange proposed by Lengua y Mundo en Sevilla and the aim is to work cooperatively with other local associations active in the neighborhoos in order to share as much as possible the benefit of this project.
