Background: According to the Latin saying Docendo discimus –While studying we can be the teachers of other people, the project called EUROPEAN SCHOOL THROUGH LOCAL VALUES, that lasts 2 years, has been conceived with a view to developing the students’ and teachers’ competences in order that they may comply with the precise requirements stipulated by Europe 2020 Strategy that refers to the optimization of the employment rate and to the increase in the rate of admission to college examinations in accordance with the objective no.4: the rate of early school abandonment-10%, and the number of people having a university degree who are aged 30 and 34 –at least 40%.Objectives: The main objective: enabling teachers’ mobility with a view to improving their abilities and the good practices exchange in the European context. Secondary objectives: 1. An increase in the self-esteem of each participating teacher 2. The creation of an educational environment that observes the European standards, through the good practices exchange and then through the good practices implementation 3. The improvement of the educational system by the correlation between the realities of the national educational system and the European values contained in the managerial plans of the methodical commissions 4. The promotion of the inter-cultural education at the level of extracurricular activities.Number and profile of participants: teachers that have not been involved in projects of professional mobility such as Erasmus+, KA1: Marius Furtună, teacher of Philosophy, headmaster of “Nicolae Bălcescu” Theoretical Highschool from Medgidia since 2012- evaluation ; Elena Nechita, coordinator, teacher of French ; Monica Nedelcu, teacher of French- dissemination; Cristina Palu, school psychologist- risk management; Daniela Andronache, teacher of English- the project’s diary ; Gina Șerban, teacher of Information Science –online platform administrator; Rodica Plugaru, teacher of Latin- monitoring process.Nowadays, our highschool is dealing with the lack of a modern and European managerial system, connected with the modern educational realities, it is facing the sporadic utilization of the IT methods in the didactic field. Furthermore, very few teachers possess the ability of communicating in international languages and there are not many teachers who have participated in European training programmes.By their participation in the respective training courses, the beneficiaries will develop new competences and they will fulfil their personal professional needs that coincide with the their institution’s needs. Among the project’s results we also enumerate: the elaboration of a managerial plan that should synchronize the exigencies of the Romanian educational system with the ones of the European system, based on an educational pattern that is meant to facilitate the integration of the students with special needs; free assistance for the students and teachers interested in the exams of linguistic competences certification; free material and technical support for the students and teachers willing to carry out on-line activities/courses. Description of activities :1. The project’s team identifies the institution’s needs and European training programmes that should meet the respective needs and that should lead to the fulfilment of the objectives. 2. The project’s team elaborates an Erasmus + project, KA1 type called ”European School through local values” for the teachers whose personal needs coincide with the ones of their institution and who are receptive to European educational trends. 3. The team members fill in the application form, they establish responsabilities for each member and they organize preliminary activities. 4. The project’s implementation5. In order to facilitate the communication during the training sessions and to disseminate the activities, the project’s team creates a site and a facebook page, a project on www.etwinning.net, organizes workshops on ltnb.moodle.ro with the direct and indirect beneficiaries. The methods used by the participants are represented by questionnaires, achievement indicators, analyses, percentages, the Gantt diagram for activity planning, assessment, dissemination and impact reports. The project assessment will make use of the Gantt diagram, based on statistical data, surveys among students, teachers and parents, debates and examples of good practices. The evaluator will collect these data and will produce a project’s diary. The project’s main impact will consist in the improvement of the professional competencies of the teachers involved in the project, in the improvement of the highschool image, of the European dimension of the institutional development plan and, last but not least, of the social and linguistic competences of the students participating in European projects.
