« Science Yourself ! » project is an exchange project about science and sustainable development gathering young European people between 16 and 22 years old coming from Spain, Portugal and France. This project aims at fostering sharing moments, discovering, enrichment through meetings, intercultural exchange, associative and citizen engagement, life in community and democratic life experience through young people involvement in a project with two local partners: les Petits Débrouillards (The resourceful youth) ans Yes We Camp through Grands Voisins (Great Neighbours) collective.The young people involved in the project will be able to partake in the following activities:- intercultural and scientific animations in priority neighborhoods;- tools and mediums creation and conception for scientific experiences;- directing a report on the animations;- management and animation of temporary occupation area, within a great number of social and ecological innovations, where a diversified public is welcomed.The use of activities use with some scientific experiences will encourage the meeting with Ile-de-France priority neighborhood population: young people will be able to experiment the animation for and through science.« Science Yourself! » is a co-constructed project by and for young people, gathering thoughts, decisions and competences of each participant to help working-class neighborhoods population. This implication within a project will allow each young European to get some skills and various experiences about animation and conception of scientific experiences or temporary equipment setting, while being active European citizens and key players of their associative involvement.This project also aims at fostering interculturality, tolerance and patience. The support of animators of Les Petits Débrouilards and the Grand Voisins collective will help to fulfill a project in adequacy with local needs. The project, the used methods and the rhythm will encourage the group cohesion, initiatives, the standing back in order to assess, the personal progression of each participant and the valorization of the new knowledges and experiences, in order to be able to use them in their future career.The project with Les Petits Débrouillards will take place in some suburbs priority neighborhoods, in the Paris 19th and 20th districts and within the preparation laboratory established in the old Saint-Vincent de Paul hospital (Paris 14th district). Regarding the part of the project elapsing with the Grands Voisins collective, it will essentially takes place in the temporary occupation area of this old hospital. These different places of action will allow the young European people to discover the French capital city in another way than the classical touristic routes. They will also realize the cultural richness of Ile-de-France and moreover, the wealth differences between its inhabitants. The partners of the project will be a link between the target audience and the young European people, key players of the project, bringing a real support to foster the intercultural meetings.
