The Education Association LernLaden e.V - successfully for over 12 years in the vocational education & training of teachers in kindergarten- & preschool-area, especially active in the methodological & didactic training field of early language learning “English in kindergarten” & with currently five full-time employees is acting & teaching compliant to EU targets with its innovative range of qualifications. From 550 educators from kindergarten- & preschool-facilities who previously participate in further education training & realize or plan the concept of early language learning actively & successfully in their facilities, 45 very dedicated, senior educators with personnel & training responsibilities will be sent to Swedish preschools of the Municipality Vimmerby after previous extensive preparation in May/June 2017. After consultation with the carrier authorities of participating kindergarten- & preschool-facilities this will be a 12-day-on-hands-experience in form of an accompanied "Workplace shadowing". Project goals are the development of the LernLaden onto the profile as a recognized educational provider in the field of early language learning with a national orientation and establishment and improvement of the course quality. 550 educators have been taking/will take part in the linguistic training programs so far. They allow the children of their facilities to experience a first encounter with a foreign language - early on, of high-quality, equitably, free of charge and as a growing cultural self-understanding. The educational plans of kindergartens for Saxony-Anhalt & Thuringia are not in demand of it yet despite European guidelines. Therefore it is important to qualify the teachers as best as possible. We are planning a second "Workplace shadowing" in Swedish preschools with 45 dedicated educators willing to take on ideas, improve and develop continuously. These people have managing-, personnel- & training- responsibilities & are actively practising English in their kindergartens. These educators are to receive a special, motivating & exciting opportunity for (further) qualification with the following objectives: The extension & expansion of educational, inter-cultural, teaching methodology & personal skills for their own work as well as for the high-demanding instruction & mentoring of and for the knowledge- & practice-transfer of senior teachers to the trainees, professional students, alumni as well as to colleagues in their own institutions. The participants are all multipliers & will afterwards pass on their gained experience through top-down processes. The project will provide new impulses, ideas, experiences & methods in the educational work with the children in many ways (multilingualism, language development, inclusion, development & documentation, training and guidance, etc.). The kindergarten children ("End User") themselves will broadly benefit in all stages of the project. They can actively participate in the preparation (paint pictures, take photos for the Swedish children). They can culturally approach the visit of "their" educator together (e.g.: sing Swedish songs, celebrate the festival of lights & more). They can even work together after attending the new experiences & insights of the caregiver such as in interesting projects. (Possibly sponsorship collaborations) The project also serves the linguistic improvement of English language skills of the participants, which are necessary & will be used for the sustained realization of early language learning in their work with children & in the guidance as well as the preparation of interns & graduates in this new & innovative field of activity. As Sweden has an exemplary very progressive & motivating kindergarten- & preschool-system & thus is a certain role model & multiplier effect throughout the European education scale, it is considering project goals & target audience – practised living English-language educators in kindergartens as early language learning - an excellent "learning"-country to be sent to.With its background of immigration, multilingualism & culture in Sweden, English is the first foreign language to be learned, the "number-1-language". English there is already actively introduced to preschool-children, it is well-spoken & communicated throughout the country. The results of the project will be documented in form of photos, videos and newspaper article on a wide scale. Communication will be used for further educational training & guidance in particular of future educator generations as well as for on-the-spot-work in kindergartens. Project materials are considered together with children & parents, they will be admired & evaluated to increase the acceptance & tolerance towards other cultures & languages. All participants will receive the “Euro Mobility Pass” after their successful realization of the project including the implementation and evaluation of the project in writing.
