Start date: 01 Jul 2016,
End date: 30 Jun 2018
We would like to give our school a new - an intercultural - profile, we'd like to show our openness towards today's challenges in a modern Europe, so that our students can be prepared in the best possible way. This is important because they have to find their place in the European labour market and because we are the last official institution on their way to provide them with basic values such as tolerance and respect - being essential for dealing with foreignness and differentness in their later lifes. Our colleagues' knowledge of intercultural project work should be up to date in order to enable the students to participate in interesting and lucrative pan-European projects. This will be much more than just studying facts and figures, or than pure language learning. It has also got a social dimension. Our students can develop their personnality and enlarge their openmindedness towards foreign cultures in the process. Thanks to the knowhow and contacts acquired during the training, our colleagues' motivation will increase and they will develop interest in undertaking further training in other European countries and/or in the field of project management. They will be motivated enough to implement school projects with other European schools and to represent the idea of a multicultural Europe in a more efficient way. Intercultural competence is being implemented in our courses and our colleagues' project management competences will be essential for the institutionalising of pan-European school projects. The colleague taking part in the training in Porto is a language teacher and very open towards new ideas and impulses. She is highly motivated to bring the training's results and inputs to our school and to further expand the European idea at the TGBBZ 2 SB.
