Schule als lernende europäische Institution (SALEI)
Start date: Nov 7, 2016, End date: Nov 6, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Obermenzinger Gymnasium Munich is based on the educational principles of its maintaining body, the Munich SchoolFoundation -Ernst von Borries-. These educational principles are set out in the Foundation's statutes and explicitly define as one of its central aims to "build a European awareness in students, to develop a deeper insight into the historical importance of European values and European peace framework and promote commitment to the European idea through appropriate projects."Since the year 2013/14 we are building up a bilingual track at our school. The result is a constantly growing need of CLIL methodology trained teachers.Since schoolyear 2014/15 the SWPBIS-methodology ("School- Wide Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support") is introduced at the school. In this context, an intensive cooperation with the University of Flensburg (EUF), Department of Special Education, Department of "pedagogy and didactics to promote emotional and social development" (Professor Dr. habil. Joachim Bröcher) exists. Thanks to the Erasmus +: Comenius-KA1-promotion very successful training courses and exchanges are organized since 2014 in these areas. The insights and skills gained there were successfully introduced and implemented into the school day. The participants learned new innovative approaches (Pentacidad® concept, Dalton teaching, LTTA - "Learning Through The Arts") and there were extended training needs created. This is where the focus of the 2016 - 2018 requested funding from Erasmus +: Comenius training mobilities is locatedThe requirement of international training courses was raised in detail in January 2014 by means of an accurately created survey in the college and analyzed in a working group in close cooperation with the school administration. This requirement of European training courses was verified in 2016. On this basis the following project objectives were defined.Project Objectives:An internationalization and further consolidation / stabilisation of the European dimension of the school, of the school’s environment and the levels of experience of all those involved in the school life should be, inter alia, forced by the expansion and the constant development of SWPBIS-methodology and the full-day school operation in further European cooperation and trainingactivities. The overall objective is to continuously improve the quality of teaching and the development of pedagogical and didactic principles.Another goal is to continuously improve the quality of teaching and the continuous development of pedagogical and didactic principles and methods (SWPBIS methodology complemented by the Pentacidad® concept, Dalton teaching, CLIL etc.) as well as the all-day concept and the language skills of teachers.By means of the KA1 mobilities participants gain greater openness to cultural, social and linguistic diversity. This is associated with a strengthening of their cultural and linguistic competence that goes to an even better support of activities to promote the mobility of students than before. It remains desirable that the KA1 measures the basis for future strategic Erasmus +: form Comenius schoolpartnerships (KA2).Number and profile of the participants:43 subject teachers and educational assistantsDescription of activities:Taking courses from various providers, study visits at SWPBIS-schools (job shadowing, hospitations) and training institutions abroad.Procedures for project execution / management:Courses, shadowing, hospitations, workshopsBrief description of the expected results:Gain of SWPBIS skills.
