Schulclubarbeit CVJM Kodersdorf
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Dec 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The volunteer Julia Wenger spent one year in the school club of the YMCA in the school of Kodersdorf. One objective was to encourage the pupil in the school in Kodersdorf for activities promoting healthy behaviours, in particular through sport, outdoor activities and balanced diet because there are obvious deficits in this aspect. With the project we wanted also to strengthen the social competences and the social inclusion of young people and communicate a concrete example for active voluntary participation in society. To the activities of the volunteer belong sportive offers, regular prepared meals through the pupils in the club, to get in contact with the pupils and own projects like the weekly Girls-only-project. Intercultural information about Austria was offered and the volunteer taught to play the guitar for interested young people. The volunteer stayed 12 months with task related and personally support by experienced staff or volunteers. In the result the personally competences and experiences of the volunteer are enlarged, the host organisation is ready to host a volunteer again and the motivation for a healthy lifestyle of the youngsters increased. The international relationship of host and sending organisation (akzente Salzburg/Austria) shall be continued.
