School + : Teachers in Action
Start date: Feb 28, 2015, End date: Dec 27, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The growing number of unmotivated students in addition to low academic success, often sunk in continuous school conflicts disconnected of the teachers’ practices, have been the biggest problems in the Agrupamento de Escolas de Seia, in Seia, recently . As teachers’ strategies are no longer effective, they recognize the need for creative responses that address the students’ different learning styles so typical of the new generation. In this context the training course " Drama in Education " as it is planned may offer a potential answer and reinforce positively the pedagogical work of thoughtful and committed teachers to improve the issues mentioned above. So, five teachers are going to participate in this training program for their professional intrinsic motivation and willingness to make the school a place where young students may enhance their talents, develop their skills and gain a greater autonomy in the wake of a sustainable and entrepreneurial society. The project follows a methodology "Learning in Action " supported by a diverse set of role- play activities such as presentations , share experiences, theater exercises, improvisations, discussions, group work , etc. As a result it is expected that, on one hand participating teachers share with other colleagues the learning and materials produced in the workshops and seminars, and, on the other hand, create an open educational resource with ideas , photos, videos , lesson plans as well as relevant teaching - learning materials for the improvement of practices that will make the whole school a School + . In this perspective, the eTwinning networking will enable new opportunities to develop new partnerships in other transnational projects, aligning the Agrupamento de Escolas de Seia, in Seia in a short way to reach the strategies of Europe 2020 .
