ScandiSkills
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

This application covers two projects: one destined to the carpentry trainees, the other intended for the florists. Both projects will take place twice during the 24 months period. Carpenters : The main objective of this project is to develop VET learners’ mobility and to give them the opportunity to learn about different work techniques and to work in a different environment than the one they are used to in their home country, in this case, wood structure construction. This mobility will give them the opportunity to follow courses for a week at the work Røros Videregående Skole and to work for two week in a regional enterprise. The courses and the work experience will be focused on the wood structure construction’s techniques. These competences are part of the IFAPME Carpentry framework so the aim of this work experience is to allow trainees to learn new competences but also to improve their basic skills. It is also important to highlight that those learners are accompanied and lead by trainers that are professional in their activity fields and those ones are following the trainees during their all apprenticeship. In this way, it already exists a strong link among the group, link that could be very important, especially when the young people are abroad (for some of them, it’s a first experience) To this, could we add our will to open their minds on Europe and on mobility in general (also for their future as workers), to give them the opportunity to learn about a culture (different of their own culture) and to learn the basis of a foreign language. To reach this goal, the partner will organize cultural visits to allow our trainees to discover Norway, a country they would probably never visit outside this opportunity. This placement will be preceded by a preparatory work in Belgium. On one hand, they will have to English lessons (24h) to enable them to acquire the necessary everyday languages basis. A specific follow-up will be organise to prepare the trainees psychologically. Furthermore, preparation activities related to the techniques they are going to explore during the placement. In order to integrate ECVET process to this project, validation of learning outcomes will be based on an assessment grid based on IFAPME training program. It will be validated by the accompanying trainer and then certified by the national competent body in delivering additional certificates, IFAPME in this case. (Note that, at the moment, the IFAPME complementary competences certificate isn’t yet available). ***** Florists : The main objective is the same that for the carpenters. This two weeks mobility is divided between a week of courses at the Keuda College (courses focusing on the bride’s bouquet composition) and a week in a local enterprise that will allow the trainees to put their newly learned competences into practice and also improve their basics skills.
