Start date: Dec 1, 2014, End date: Nov 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project meets an institutional need that we identified in a SWOT analysis. The idea, which is also present in the PAS of the institution, is suitable for a mobility application. Absenteeism and school dropout represent important issues that appear in the Romanian educational system. These problems which are common for many schools represent a priority for all the persons involved in education, from headmasters and teachers to students and parents. The project entitled “Decreasing school dropout, as a result of increasing learning motivation through European mobility” is addressed to a number of 45 high-school students, in the 11th and 12th form, specializing as “CAD- engineering technician”, “computer operating technician” and “mechatronic technician”, which will participate in 3 flows, in 3 different countries, along with partners we worked with in other projects as well. The main goal of the project is decreasing absenteeism, increasing motivation and interest for education through participation in training internships abroad. The professional experience acquired as a result of this mobility will help the students integrate on the ever-changing labor market. The methodology applied: Standards of professional training. The project meets objective 1 of the sub-program “Education and Training” from Erasmus+ program and strategic priority 1 of the sub-program. The main general objectives are: promoting a positive attitude towards the training of students who specialize in a certain field, acquiring the necessary skills for integration on the European labor market, communication in a foreign language. The specific objectives for “computer operating technician” and “mechatronic technician” are: acquiring competences for connecting power supply and equipment in installations, for identifying digital integrated circuits, developing practical abilities for measuring no electric physical sizes with electrical physical sizes and using device with electronic display in equipment and installations, acquiring skills for using microcontrollers in installations. The specific objectives for “CAD engineering technician” are: developing an interdisciplinary technical thinking and acquiring engineering techniques for electrical installations, acquiring skills for using sets of graphical applications, developing abilities for identifying and using hard and soft parts, of interpreting and altering 2D and 3D drawings, improving general technical competences, with a view to acquire abilities and skills necessary for their qualification, acquiring abilities to identify different types of defects and electrical circuits, to configure electrical installations by using technical graphics, and competences for evaluating performance in the field of technical graphics. The internship abroad will raise interest for professional training, as the students acquire a qualification which will facilitate access on the labor market. The outcomes will be: technical competences, specific for their field of training and tangible results, such as materials, portfolios, articles written by our students about their participation in this project. The activities of the sending organization: identify the needs of the school and analyze the training needs of the participants, register in ECAS, obtain the PIC code, contact partners, fill in and send the application form with all the necessary documents for the filling in the ECAS platform. In case the project is approved all the necessary steps will be taken for the organization, implementation, reporting and dissemination of the project. The activities of the host organization: register in ECAS and obtain the PIC code, work together with the sending organization in order to organize, implement, report and disseminate the project. The activities of the participants will be in accordance with the specific professional competences mentioned in the project. Impact and benefits: diminish absenteeism, promote the image of the school, get benefits from the outcomes, improve training activities, raise interest and involve other training centers, develop a positive attitude towards labor, raise interest for practical training, collaborate with the partners (with training centers in our country and abroad), support the participants to acquire skills and develop competences to improve their professional development and employability on the European labor market.
