This Erasmus+ project took place in Samara, Russia and was an exchange between two neighbouring countries, Finland and Russia. Allianssi Youth Exchanges sent one Finnish EVS volunteer to Samara Down Syndrome Association, an association that has a goal to advocate the rights and needs of disabled children. The activities lasted 9 months and concentrated on taking care of the needs of the children with Down Syndrome as well as children without the syndrome. The volunteer was integrated in the daily tasks of the hosting association and cooperated with the staff and other (local) volunteers who run the daily work. This cooperation benefited the needy children, hosting community and the volunteer in the terms of cultural exchange and exchange of practices and information.
