Triple I addresses the needs and constrains of the countries involved by disseminating the socialand democratic values of the EU and promoting better understanding of Russia, thus supporting thedevelopment of Euro-Russian relations in whole. The theme of Integration, Interaction and Institutionsis strategically chosen to address the issues important in the Euro-Russian relations.Triple I mobility scheme consists of 225 grantees. Of these grant holders 75 % are Russian.Partner universities' students and staff represent 82% of the mobilities: These mobility flows promoteinterdisciplinary cooperation between partners. Mobility flows create extensive influence on nonmobilestudents and academics in partner countries and promote the development of joint curriculaand even joint degrees.Triple I contributes to the development of joint research projects and promotes exchange ofexperience in educational methods and practises. In addition, organising individual mobilitiesenhances capacity for multilateral cooperation in university administration. The aim is also to developrecognition of studies and qualifications, especially in those Russian universities not already usingECTS in full scale.Non-partner university mobilities, target groups 2 and 3, provide the grantees the possibility toincrease their intellectual capacity in order to be able to contribute for the development of theirreference group. Through these target groups Triple I increases its effect on the Russian society as awhole.Triple I mobility scheme is based on free mobility. This means that applicants to the mobility scheme inall target groups can apply freely to any European/Russian partner university of their interest. Freemobility and lack of pre-assigned mobility quotas allow the mobilities to be chosen on academiccriteria. The thematic expertise of each partner can be fully appreciated and the interests of theapplicants served. The Consortium aims at multilateral mobility flows that arise from academic interest.
