Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The reason why we have taken part in this project is simple. We are The Secondary School of Hotel Services and Commerce preparing students to work in services where it is a bare necessity to speak foreign language. Learning foreign languages is not always popular with students. Therefore it is important to motivate students and show them different forms and methods. Variety of activities and using of modern IT technologies is a really good motivation which increases classroom dynamics. The objective of our school is to have teachers who use creative methods and modern approaches in education. There were chosen four teachers for our project, two teachers of English and two of German language. Project competition was held according to the criteria defined by our school. All chosen teachers are experienced, anxious and productive, they regularly attend seminars and try to implement new creative methods into the teaching process. Our teachers also prepare students for intership programmes and international competitions where they can present their required knowledge from languages and facts of English/German speaking countries as well. When teaching languages we are trying to attract all the students from the best to the weakest ones and encourage them to get better results. The participants will attend courses such as Language and Methodology for Teachers of English and Effective Use of Technology in Teaching in Anglolang, Scarborough and the course German Teacher´s Training in Actilingua, Wien. The participants will improve their communication in foreign language, they will make new contacts and gain new skills in chosen courses. Methodology course is focused on obtaining new forms and methods, broadening resource portfolio and influencing the teaching process through teaching methods. Teachers will have new cultural insight into British culture, new ideas how to influence classroom dynamics and how to lead students to be autonomy learners. The course focused on effective use of IT technologies in teaching will increase using of modern IT forms, on-line audio/video materials, wikis - internet encyclopaedias on English lessons, social media, m-learning and interactive whiteboard. Training courses for German teachers will enable access to new teaching materials, using of new methods and new techniques of reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as new approaches in teaching grammar and vocabulary. The courses will use audio- visual methods and IT forms on German lessons. The lecturers of language institutions are internationally experienced teachers, accepting multicultural approach, who will provide the feedback to participants during the courses and thus monitor their improvement. Professional improvement of participants will be assessed in the final part of our project by internal audit, which is organized in our school regularly. The outcomes of the project will be presented on open lessons, on the day when we present our school for new students and we will also prepare new materials for subjects communication in English and German language as well as presentations in Powerpoint evaluating cultural aspects and different lifestyles. In local media and on the internet web page of our school we will publish the report of participation of our school in project Erasmus+, supported by European Union. During the realization of our project the teachers will make new contacts which will be a long-term contribution to our organization. Participation in this project will have a long-lasting impact on our organization in the form of increasing quality of teachers, increasing quality of teaching process, statute of modern school with satisfied and successful students. It will be the school which will capitalize the contacts from this project into realization of new projects and thus contribute to better visibility of our school in our region, but mainly abroad.
