The project "Developing teaching methodology and language skills" has been completed at Primary School in Rzozow. It was a two-year project, which was initiated on1.06.2014 and finished on 31.05.2016. The aim of the project was to increase the overall quality of teaching English as a foreign language in the pre-primary and primary education.The main goals were related to extend English language competences, as well as modern methods of teaching young learners. Moreover, it was aiming to introduce Information and Communication Technology into English classroom. In order to achieve objectives mentioned above the participant took part in two training sessions- both were organized by Executive Training Institute in Malta within two week period during summer vacation. "The Playground Classroom- Methodology for Primary School" course increased the knowledge of the teacher in terms of various teaching methods. What is more, it equipped the participant with numerous practical skills and broad teaching techniques that are available at an early stage. The "Technology Enhanced Learning course" was designed to incorporate, adapt and employ the modern technology in the educational process. The teacher learnt how to use the available online applications as well as audiovisual resources such as YouTube. The participant also increased ability to prepare teaching materials like crosswords, quizzes, and gained knowledge of interactive whiteboard usage. Implementation of the project allowed to lower the age of the students who start learning English at Primary School in Rzozow. That enabled us to create a friendly environment for young learners at pre-primary stage. By participating in the project our school gained a well-qualified teacher, who raised professional qualifications that allow to adapt various teaching methods in the classroom. In order to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process the teacher enriches classes by implementing the use of modern teaching tools. By applying new teaching methodologies, latest techniques and ICT into teaching, young learners acquire a foreign language in a more effective way. In the long term perspective children will be able to increase their language skills in order to communicate in English. Furthermore, this will also help to improve teaching results at our school.
