The project intends to organise professional work placement for two groups of students into two EU countries: - business academy – 12 students – destination: Portsmouth, UK - mechanic of machines and equipments – 5 students – destination: Portsmouth, UK - confectioner – 6 students – destination: Milan, Italy - car mechanic – 5 students – destination: Milan, Italy The main objective of the project: - applicatation of theoretical knowledge into practice: students will work in real workplaces: car garages, reastaurants, offices, banks, etc. - expand of students’ professional vocabulary - to gain new competences and skills in their profession regarding modern technologies, use of computer programmes and diagnostic equipment The detailed description of expected project outcome is the following for the different professions: Business academy: Students will - get acquainted with legal functioning of the company - get more information about banking system in UK - study the system of non-cash payments - get acquainted with the softwares that a company uses - study the accounting documents - improve their business English competences, in communication with clients - get new information about English traditions and habits. Mechanic of machines and equipments: Students will: - use specific tools for measuring processes - use different materials - know the methods of milling work - know the methods of forging and heat treatment works - cutting, bending and riveting sheets - know the norms used in UK - be able to read technical documents in English Car mechanic: Students will: - use specific methods, ways of work, equipment, tools in car mechanic services - get to know Italian technology in mending cars /Fiat, Alfa Romeo/ - will undertake the following processes: oil change, reparing brakes, engines/ - check and repair engine starting, measure engine power , check wiring - installation and removal of the crankshaft - get acquainted with Italian norms - have an insight into technical documentation Confectioners: Students will: - manufacture of pastry products typical for the region and patisserie in Italy - Italian pastry specialties - Panna Cotta , Crostata di marmellata ... - - Technology of preparation of creams , fillings , decorations , toppings , - - Preparation of restaurant desserts , - - Ice-cream - - Decorating cakes - materials , decorating equipment Problems and needs of students: - they need to develop their professional and language skills , - They need to try to live and work abroad in order to become more independent and self-confident , - after the work placement they get more attractive for potential future employers , - in their home institution they do not have the proper technological background to try out the modern technologies
