ROMOTION OF THE USE OF THE FOREST BIOMASS WITH ENERGETICAL OBJECTIVES IN THE SOUTHWEST OF EUROPE (ENERSILVA )

This project aims to ensure the sustainable development of the SUDOE forests, through the utilization of biomass to energetic ends. The partners of this project intend to promote the capitalization of the forests through an integrated management of the resources and valuing the products so far considered as residuals. Many actions will be taken to implicate forest proprietors on the biomass exploration, though organizational structures that guarantee the permanent supply of biomass. The creation of a pluridisciplinar net of experts in the development fore utilization of the forest biomass will be a determinant element to stimulate the evolution of this sector and to modernize the structures and technologies. Its activity will contribute to increase the employment, directly or indirectly, with the utilization of forest biomass and its transformation. Otherwise, the forest fire risk in the zones of development of the forest biomass utilization will diminish, as well as the surface affected by the fires.
