Role of a man in building Europe based on gender equality
Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Role of a man in building Europe based on gender equality is study visit that will gather 30 youth workers, leaders and young people interested in gender equality and non violence Europe. Study visit will be in Sweden form 8th till 12th of December 2015.Europe as a home for all can be developed only if we take responsibility together in working in different fields. One of the important topics nowadays is gender equality and sexual based violence that we want to explore more and find out about future steps in working towards this topic. The strong idea among partners is born after Consultation meeting on data collection: administrative data sources and future needs for data collection that took place on the 19-20 March 2014 in Vilnius. On the European level situation is also not quite well bright. "Collection of comparable, sex-disaggregated data is necessary to measure the effectiveness of our efforts for ending gender-based violence. Gender-based violence against women is still a hidden crime across the EU. The absence of reliable data and information on the prevalence of violence impedes the progress of combating violence against women. Urgent action is needed by governments to address this deficit”, says Therese Murphy from the European Institute for Gender Equality. On the other side in November 2013 Serbia gave sign at the "Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence". This is a study visit with the main aim to rise awareness on non violence, gender equality and active civic participation among youth in Europe giving them possibility of interactive gaining skills and knowledge under this topic. Specific goals of the study visit are: - to promote active citizenship and participation amongst young people in their own community - to rise awareness of gender equality and gender based violence and ensure space for exchanging methodologies and approaches in working with youth under this topic - to promote cooperation on European level and exchange methods and approaches in working under the topic of gender equality. During the study visit there will be used a non formal learning approach where all participants can actively participate and give their contribution. From the other side they will also have some formal session. The project also has the aim to develop and foster international cooperation in working on gender equality and non violence, to share good practice and methodologies in order to create a picture of gender equality on European level and develop approaches on working with this issue.
