Rohkem teadmisi ja oskusi
Start date: May 22, 2015, End date: Dec 21, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

In the framework of the project we will educate and offer exciting experiences for 25 young people, who are members of Tapa valla Noortekogu(Tapa Parish Youth Assembly) or active in Tapa Lastekaitse Ühing(Tapa Child Protection Association). We also invole in our activities members of Viljandi Youth Assembly and Anija Youth Assembly. We will conduct meetings with different people, who deal with concerns and decisions affecting young people in local governments. We want the local government to see a good partner in a young person, who brings new thoughts and ideas, that the government could apply. From the youth point of view we would like them to get a better idea, how a local government operates and what its tasks are. We want young people to have the courage and the will to express their thoughts, and, if necessary, they would also be able to stand up for their wishes. With our project we motivate young people to actively participate in their local social life and while going through seminars/ workshops they gain more skills, which will help them in the future (listening, courage to perform, debating skills, etc.). We will carry out discussions, meetings, debates, team work, field trips and workshops. As the result of the project, young people should have the courage to speak up in local governments for issues concerning youth, and local governments should be more aware about the importance of a youth assembly. Young people are more motivated and aware of where they can have their say and know how to apply their ideas and thoughts to local governments so they would be seen and heard. The project should generate more interest to participate and get involved in the society in young people who have not been active in a youth assembly, pupil association or youth centres so far. We want the project to raise awareness of the youth assembly and its activities.
