Ripples in a pond: Hacia unas nuevas Escuelas
Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project, "Ripples in a pond: Towards our new Escuelas", has been designed by Escuelas San José, a state-supported school in the province of Valencia (Spain). This school is immersed in a process of methodological renovation, as required by the new social and educational needs, as well as the laws which rule the education sector. Its objective is to meet the needs which have been detected as regards the establishment of new international contacts, the development of the language skills of its teaching staff and, most of all, the implementing of recent teaching methods, particularly those which multilingual teaching systems involve (CLIL).Four participants have been selected for that purpose. They represent the four stages of Primary Education, Seconday Education, College Education and Vocational Training. All of them have a good command of English and are highly motivated to carry out this project. During the mobility period, the participants will be trained in new methodologies for the classroom, in materials writing, and in the theoretical and practical principles which support CLIL. They will also make contact with other European learning institutions to develop the international dimension of the school through the establishment of collaborative projects based on what has been learned. On their return, a working group will be created to contribute to the training of the rest of the teaching staff mainly by producing some resources which will be used as a guiding model (ripples in a pond). In the long run, the benefits of this project will be reflected on the higher quality of the teaching practice in our Escuelas, and on the internationalization of the teaching and training that are offered to our students.
