RING - TransferRING Supports for Caregivers

Ring started from results obtained in 2 previous projects coordinated by Turin (E1 measure-POR-ESF "VELA Project-Enhance the work experience of family carers";LdV-Mobility-Vetpro"LAPIS:formative tracks for the promotion of Healthy Ageing". Then in the needs and feasibility analysis shared by a wide national and European partnership has been confirmed the need to improve and implement the training of formal and informal caregivers of elderly people affected by dementia (who are growing up rapidly).The project has aimed to improve the quality of life of the caregivers, to strengthen also their position in the labour market and contribute to social cohesion with a relapse on assisted people, family and on social and health services.The consortium has been composed by a multi-disciplinary national and European partnership, made of professors, psychologists, geriatricians, neurologists, trainers, health operators, volunteers, engaged on this theme, from three Italian regions (Lombardia, Piemonte, Lazio,two European countries (Spain, Romania) and an applicant one (Turkey).The direct involvement of stakeholders and Committee of the beneficiaries, during the project, has facilitated the assessment of impact and sustainability over the time of training, and the promotion and creation of some self-help groups among caregivers.It has been blended and transferred the "Kit Ring" to increase the skills level of the group at risk; the Kit is formed by: - "GAM_Psychoeducational programme focused on the emotional well-being of the Alzheimer's caregivers" based on an innovative methodology of psycho-educational intervention, useful to enhance and improve relational skills and behaviour of people in initial or permanent training (Ingema Foundation-ES)- "Guidelines for caregivers" a booklet, an informative guide for caregivers about the different forms of dementia, the course of the illness, practical indications regarding care and support at the end of the patient's life (Sospiro Foundation-IT)- DVD RING with clips from movies, fragments used as teaching support in training for caregivers (Maderna Centre-IT).Results:-Final report of the testing, dissemination and implementation of the innovative product, Kit Ring;-improved skills and quality of training of formal and informal caregivers by provision of training and methodological aid (Kit Ring);-expansion and diversification of the final beneficiaries of the product(disabled people)
