Search for European Projects

Right here
Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Nov 9, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

"Right Here" is a project which is using theatre as a tool to widen the views and worlds of young people living in our cities by connecting them with other young people from different countries. We're creating a space where these differences and similarities are celebrated and, through working with high level artists, great work can be created. "Right here" will work to link 24 young people, cultural managers and organisations through a pilot project which will lead to long term relationships and begin to build networks across European Youth Theatres. The project will consist of three home projects based on the same themes, "Who are we in our city?", which will serve as a basis for the exploration of each others’ practise and ways of working; The participants will then use this material to create a collaborative project in a physical exchange. The project aims to open up young people’s eyes beyond their immediate circumstances and help them to understand the European context within which they are living. It also will provide them with a chance to work with high quality artists from Europe to create new and exciting theatre and work in ways they haven’t before. We aim to work with young people who have never had the chance to travel internationally or take part in an exchange before. The outcomes of our findings from each individual project will form a basis for a piece of research examining the ways we work with young people in a youth theatre setting and form a platform from which to discuss ways to collaborate and improve our work in the future. KEY ACTIVITIES • Individual theatre projects, one in each country • Collaboration project: production of one theatre show with the three partners • Creation of a research document • Dissemination of the research results to our networks.
