Right Art
Start date: Aug 1, 2015, End date: Feb 29, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

“Right Art” is a Youth Exchange promoted by the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo in collaboration with the Drums For Peace network. It will take place from 7th to 14th of December 2015 in Chiavenna and it will involve 28 youths 18 to 25-year-old coming from Finland, Italy, Romania and Turkey (5 pt+2 gl for each group). The main topic will be Human Rights, a living matter in all over the world connected with democracy, freedom, respect and justice as basis for a peaceful “living together”. Moreover the project will last in a specific week: that of the World Day of Human Right. “Right Art” aims at making aware youth about this subject, giving to the participants the information tools to analyze it and to become representative of those values. To get it, we will introduce some specific and real cases of human rights violation, victims' petitions appealed to the Courts of Human Rights: it will encourage also a debate among the participants. All the considerations will be express through the lens of the art, in particular through 3 workshops (theatre, music, visual art) that prove to be a key tool to remove language and culture barriers among the participants, as they see as a common language that could be fit for everyone, open and flexible to everyone’s abilities. In addition, an art performance will take place at the end of the week, summarising what will be done during the workshops. The performance will be acted in Cinisello Balsamo (first in Casiraghi High School and than in Pertini Cultural Centre), involved in a wide initiative related with the World Day of Human Right. It will be useful, on the one hand, to show the results achieved by the participants to the local community, and, on the other hand, to set a shared goal that encouraged and led to collaborative and virtuous behaviours.
