REVENTION OF CRIME CROSSING THE EASTERN BORDER OF FINLAND (PREVENTION OF CRIME CROSSING THE EASTERN BORDER OF FINLAND)

The project is linked to a prevention of neighbouring area crime project of the senior management of the police and South-Finlands polices county administration, the aim of which is intensifying the prevention of the crime directed at Finland from Russia, Belarus and the Baltic countries and the citizens of these countries as well as citizens of other countries residing in these countries. The aim is also to expose, investigate and bring to account offenders to prevent the networking of professional and organized crime, in accordance with the valid treaties, in their native countries or country of residence.The aim is to stabilize the operation in accordance with the project as a permanent activity of the police. National and international co-operation between authorities will become a part of the daily activities and crime prevention becomes more effectives more effective.Cross-border crime is prevented and revealed more effectively as co-operation with frontier and customs authorities and between police forces. Information interchange with the authorities of the neighbouring area develops pertaining to the prevention of crime.Threatening factors endangering the safety of citizens related to cross-border organized crime, especially to drug-related crimes, are prevented.
