ReportStag-e: Electronic Scientific Centre for Added-Value Journalism

The ReportStag-e project addresses the adaptation to industrial/technological change in the field of journalism and will thus establish an internet-based training centre offering continuous training to professional journalists on the use of new technologies. The objective is to introduce, incorporate and adapt new technological methods and tools in order to achieve added-value journalism. A series of modular and updateable multi-media based training packages, specifically designed to cover various sub-disciplines of journalism, will be created to meet the training requirements. The project will deploy e-learning and on-line evaluation procedures for continuous vocational training in respect to added-value journalism, that is not limited to the writing and editing of articles by the use of IT technologies. The project will enable journalists to access a variety of training packages covering a range of thematic modules and training levels. Practical training will empower journalists to initiate journalism-related activities, such as web journalism, web TV/radio and electronic magazines/newspapers.Additionally, the project will seek to develop a discussion e-forum for the exchange of information and technical know-how. The use of new technologies will ease the everyday working methods of journalists and further safeguard their inclusion into modern systems of information delivery.
